OK, I'm an impatient bastard. Time to get this party started.

I think the thread to choose a movie for analysis has been on there long enough so that anybody who may have wished to have any input into it could have done so.

And if anybody wants to do other movies, they only need post.

So here are the choices with links to where you can find the scripts:

Collateral

A Few Good Men

The American President

The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

The Talented Mr. Ripley.

(I'm sorry but the Pursuit of Happiness does not meet the criteria:

Out on video and script available)

We'll see if anybody's interested. There's no reason we can't go down the line and discuss them one at a time.

But I suppose it all depends on the level of interest. We all have our own schedules to follow, lives to live and writing to do. Myself, I'm usually here only once a day.

Anybody who is interested - please vote so we can see if there's any real level of interest.

Hopefully there'll be a high enough level of participation to make it interesting...

Good going, Bill.

Of all the scripts, I have already read Ripley, and Eternal Sunshine, so I'm biased (plus they're both Oscar nominated/winning).

Well, looks like it's tied between A Few Good Men and Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I have no problem doing both. I view it as part of my work, the study of screenplays.

So I'm gonna post threads for each and whoever wants to participate can.

If you want to write or are currently writing a screenplay - PARTICIPATE!

It's free and it's an exchange of ideas, opinions and information with others who share the same interest/pursuit as you!

I am hoping people will chime in with their thoughts and help us (and themselves) see how these scripts were constructed and maybe enlarge our understanding of what makes a good script/movie.

I firmly believe that there's no way you can write a good script if you do not read good scripts and analyze them for what made them good/successful.

Do not dream, Do.

Do not imagine, Be.

I haven't read any of the scripts, but I voted A Few Good Men.

One of the best films ever made.
