Markets for Short story series/collection?

Just curious, but what would you all suggest for someone who is writing a series or collection of shorts in the way of markets?

It's a set-up kinda like the Krystonia books (if anyone's read them), where shorts are also part of a larger story.....

I'm so confused, lol. Do I package them as a novel? Or do I find a publisher that would print them individually, then at a later date, release them as a collection/anthology? And how do I go about finding such a market?

Any help/ideas are greatly appreciated.
