Hello, everyone. I'm seeking a publisher for "Nothing Can Tear Us Apart,"
my novel (gay/ethnic/erotica genres.) I'm having a hard time going, even though editors at houses are saying it is "compelling, bold, well-written; just not quite right for my list." I'm doing the querying, writers conferences, networking, etc, etc.

Can anyone out there recommend a publisher who is more inclined to handle my subject matter? Thanks.

Cowboy.

Without info on which houses you've alreadyapproached, it's difficult to offer you solid advice. Are you looking for print or e-book publishers?

For print, I would say start at the top and query: Alyson, Cleis, Haworth, Soft Skull and Pretty Things. For e-books, Torquere would be my first rec, then the other romance/erotica publishers that take gay themed: Loose ID, Whiskey Creek/Torrid, Ellora's Cave, Samhain all spring to mind.

Here's a comparison site that might be helpful:

Review their guidelines, prep and format as needed, and send it back out! Good luck!
