Hello all, I am new to this forum. I stumbled upon it while searching for answers. Before you can try to answer me, you must know a little bit about me. This will give you an idea about my book. I am 21 years old, and I love writing (although I have not written much in about a year) I am facing a problem that I am sure every person faces at least once in their life. I am not sure what I want to do with my life. As of now, I have not done anything worthy of note, I just love studying things. I see myself as a philosophical person in the sense that in all my time I have spent doing nothing I have thought very deeply on a lot of things. Anyways, to the point...
The answers I am seeking here are just opinions on the idea as a whole.

The idea:
My goal in life has been to learn everything I possibly can. This not only applies to "book smarts." I want to be an educated bum sort of speak, travel the world learning what I can. This is where my love of writing comes in. I want to compile it all into a book of sorts. Every time I ponder something, every experience, I want it all in the work. One day, far from now, some person can stumble upon it in an old dump and really know me. I am not sure exactly what I would classify the book as, it would be like a journal; although, it will be written for the reader. For example, I am thinking of eggs I will direct the question at the reader then go off about WHAT I am thinking. (When I say "thinking" there are times when I have spent weeks, even months, thinking about 1 topic) I know this will be Huge, I expect it to be. It is like a repository for all of my accumulated knowledge and experiences and thoughts. This would be a life long project.
The problem (finally he gets to it) is, I am having trouble finding the time to actually start. I am currently in college, and I am very busy. Also, I moved recently (online college leaves me free to move about) so I have a limited number of people to talk to here I would really like some feedback on the idea. Hopefully that will give me the nudge I need to get started.

Questions I think you will ask me:
Why do this? -- Because I can.
What are you going to do with it when it is done? -- Probably nothing. This is not something I am doing to make money; in fact I want to remove materialistic values from my life. This will not be finished until I am on my "death bed." It will be digital thus easy to reproduce. All I want is for some one to read it one day.
Your 21 years old, when does the book start? -- I am gathering my memories at the moment. I want to get as much as I can about my childhood in. I was born a Blue baby and was "not supposed to live" So I want to get that in there. After all it adds meaning to my book =)
there would be more answers to your questions; although, if I answer all of them it will be no fun for you guys.

It sounds like a blog would be 100% perfect for your project.

The best part is that each entry is a small, manageable chunk.

Good luck,

Mac

I'd suggest you pursue a degree in biomedical engineering, and develop a USB port that will enable you to download your brain. It would save you years of effort and you could charge a fortune for the service.
