I've been looking at publications I would like to send my work to. Most of these publications want hard copy submissions, which is fine. When I include a return envelope what size should it be?

If it's less than ten pages a regular sized envelope is ok, but more than that I would use manila.

I don't know why people want to get their submissions back though. Just tell them to shred it if they don't want it. *end communication*

If you don't want your manuscript back, just mark it "Disposable Copy" and include a regular #10 businesss envelope (a SASE). This will still allow them to conveniently send you an acceptance letter (right?). If you want the manuscript back, include the same envelope and postage you send it in (folded).
