Rejection after a partial request

Mixed messages

I received a request for a partial from an e-query, then, a few days later (before I had mailed it out), a form rejection from the same agent off the original query e-mail. Huh??

Anyone else have that happen? What was the outcome?

This happens infrequently. Send it out anyway. Don't make reference to the rejection.

Update: OK received fast reply that it was an intern who rejected in error

This happened to me once. I got a rejection letter and a request for the entire manuscript from the same publisher at basically the same time. I sent out the manuscript, with no mention of the rejection, and it was eventually rejected (but with a letter that said it was good). I'm certain it was just a clerical error.
