I invite you all to take a part
in the thread I wish to start.
I want a conversation done in style,
and I know it may take a while,
to get things to flow,
but I have faith and know
that like the rules say:
You'll speak truth, yet stay
poetic all the way.
You don't have to rhyme,
or clock any time.
Just talk with your friends
till all inspiration ends.

Got it?
:)

I wish I may I wish I might
be able to start
such poems tight.

For the problem you see
is the panic in me
like men so old and sublime
to fill up the scroll
with meaningful toys
of poems and literal ploys.

To make you believe
that we've something to say
but often can't say it at all.

So, we huff and we puff
but the house stays still strong.
So we quibble and nibble
and bite at the dust
while folks like young G
and Tessa the lovely.

Simply go with the flow
seldom to pick or to choose
just let their sweet brains
divulge to me
what I cannot see.

So they,ve given a cane
red at one end
to lead this one blind man
to help him to see.

That the flow has to go
or there is nothing at all
to feel, to hear, to touch
or to see.

There Tessa I did it-I think I did it-did I did it-hope so! Let us see what the
flowers can do-learn I shall or be damned to hell!!!! No-I didn't did it-it is not a conversation!1 Damn-somebody help!

So I am sitting here wondering why
my brain you know it's kind of twisted and dark.
someone out there will take up the Grail
I hope to be able to learn.

I know I know all
cause I do and I don't
but why is the question
so loud and succint?

Have you felt this way
been this way?
Hell does it matter at all?

For to try and to fail
they say is no thing
to worry so why should I?
Should you?

Now I can shut-up-luv ya Tessa-hope you get some great contributions!

Worry is wasted,
we live so we learn.
Mistakes we all make,
but thus wisdom we earn.
To flow or to glow dear
it's all in the mind.
Get off that cane and leave
old age behind.
I know you can play
and let me tell you -
it's easier to understand
what you say (and thus do)
when you speak it in rhyme,
not in prose.
I think you deserve a red rose,
My dear you are one
of my heroes.

This is a marvelous concept, Rivana -
I'll chip in right now with a rough-written sonnet.
It won't be too interesting -- short of Nirvana;
but ideas may come if I start working on it.

It's not all that hard to discuss things in rhyme,
there always are interesting topics at hand -
and, as luck would have it - well, most of the time,
the Poetry folks are a thought-thinking band.

So surely there's plenty to keep this thread going;
It's fun and a challenge, so people, jump in!
Just come and write something and make it poetic -
The words will come out, you'll take off like a Boeing
But there's no titanium plates on your skin!
(Apologies offered; that line was pathetic.)

Poet, love you.
Most welcome you are.
I wish I could give you
a shiny gold star.
A sonnet -amazing.
I wish I knew how
to write something like that
in such short span of time.
But never you mind,
cuz I liked it a lot.
Now let's hope the others
will see what we've got -
a chance to make merry,
a chance to know more
about all those people
we've only read 'bout before.
I believe in you -poets.
Come give it a spin.
The water is warm so you
just jump right in.
(Just like the man said.)

I'll jump and I'll splash
even if it's trash
getting wet
is what I'll get
it's okay
as long as it's play
good practice too
to say what's true

choppy
or sloppy
it's my best try
and I'll not cry
I'll come again
for another spin

I like what you splash,
it's poetic for sure.
I like a good playing,
we need to do more.
I don't know why I
can just speak in free rhyme.
But I try just the same
just like you.
For what else
can a poor poet do?
Welcome to the game
I hope you come again.
Just write some truths down
and then press on 'send'.

^o^

I'd have said something sooner
but words failed me
which happens more often
than I'd like it to be

And now I'm sacrificing
grammar for rhyme
Word order too --
trying things out I'm.

But I guess truth is still truth
no matter how it's shown
if I think of something profound
....I'll figure out a rhyme for it. ;) :tongue

I tried to talk poetic once
but found the funny looks
(or maybe it was all the books)
made me feel like a dunce

I get those vague stares often
do you get them too?
when I'm sure I've 'splained myself clearly
but no one else has a clue

Moth, my new friend
profoundness is good,
but don't do it just
cause you think that you should.
I just want us to talk
about anything at all,
as long as it's truth,
you may answer this call.
(And please do.)
PH my lovely
I know what you mean,
poets speaking poetry
is strange to be seen.
Yet I think the force of rhyme
and poetic tunes
they can be more powerful
than even ancient runes.
But in answer to you question
yes, I've felt this truth for sure.
And as the years and books go by
I feel it even more.
But that evens out the score
for talent and for style.
It's the price we pay
each day
laughing all the while.

(and yes I realize I have a tendency to repeat key words, sorry)

Gosh where's the rest
thought we'd have a hundred by now
new posts I think would be nice to have
don't you Tessa my dear.

Oh well I'll try
to do once more
what I have promised to do.

No rhyme no reason
but just for the fun
of reading my friends above
who jumped in the deep
threw their muse to the wind
to contort the words
is pleasure you see
for a dilettante' poet like me!

Patience is virtue friend,
so I have heard.
I'd wish more to join us,
but time
is not of essence.
This is for fun
and fun should be had,
if no one has fun
it's just another fad.
Thanks for making the choice
and lending your voice.

Chuckles and buckles
it is all just for fun
but hey cannot blame me
for wishing you more.

Can you blame me for wishing you more?
Naw dear heart that's what I'm for!

for cuddles and bubbles
and sweet Christmans pies
for you from the strange one
my dark mind implores
can't help it you see
I said it before
our Tessa is sure
to be happy with just a bit more?

A tree branch fell in our yard last night
big honker this thing was
missed the house, fence and hot tub,
but clipped where the bumblebees buzz

in the summer, my rhododendron.
*sigh* but I think it'll survive.
most of it's squashed or crunched or smushed
but the east-facing part's prolly alive.

So now we have to clean up this mess
laying on our back lawn.
(And I confess I made part of this up --
we have no hot tub...but I dream on. ;) )

sorry to hear about the mess, Moth
just be glad it's not more of a loss

one year we had not one
but three trees fall
one hit the eaves, one the trampoline,
but the last was worst of all

the wind was blowing hard
the rain was sheeting down
cottonwoods lined our yard
not very sturdy, we found

smaller branches here and there
would hit the house at random
of danger we were aware
and huddled in one bedroom

sure enough at noon
when the sky seemed darkest yet
we heard a horrible BOOM!
and then we got all wet

yes, this 30? 40? 60? foot tree
came crashing down upon us
from the back porch to front eaves
we had a jungle above us

we moved into a hotel
but the story isn't done
the landlord took her time
and soon the mold grew well

they came and took air samples
and packed away our things
'we'll bring them back' they said
after they're all cleaned

oh no that was not true,
we only got back half
for many thing were deemed
too contaminated to clean

what a coincedence
they also were
the most valueable

so for four months our family of seven
lived like kings in a hotel
it was crowded, but still heaven
as i didn't cook or clean at all

so go clean your messy yard
i'm sure you will work hard
and hopefully gleam some wood
to warm your happy home

Away
Away
up here in the air
where I live
and the blue
so fair

trees fall
with a mighty roar
with a rip
and a rap
the roots soar

up from the earth
to reach for the sky
tumble and roll
down the mountain
to land by and by.

much later I am told
the children
to search
looking for treasure
the mighty roots hold.

David, my David
look what you've done -
you've managed to lure
even more here
for fun.

*

Moth hope you get
a hot tub some day
and that your back yard
will be cleaned up some way
by someone not you
And damn it I want
one of those hot tubs too.

*

I guess no bad thing
will avoid bringing good ones -
PH you're lucky.

*

Paint
you paint
such lovely pictures.
It makes me think
about trees.
Life is short,
that is true -
I philosophize,
but mayhaps
it's still longer
than it seems.

And here am I
up so late
insomniac
it's not so great
tomorrow makes
25 to go
until I'm home
in Georgia's glow
I'll kiss my daughter
love my wife
whom I'll spent
rest of my life
almost done
off to the john
so I can get my
bowl flush on
back on later
in the morning
i'll just pop on
you'll get no warning
and if by now
you're still readin'
you can thank
Tessa from Sweden

Jason hope
you're sleeping safe
and that the time
makes short
your wait.
Soon you're home
in Georgia son,
soon you'll sleep
in loving arms.
I wish you safe
with prayer and charms.
Have a good one!

We did it we did it
Tessa my dear
you see you built it
and they came

So fear not in future
your rare claims to games
for all should love
your creative mind

When you figure it out, will you let me know?
How interesting this thread goes,
To talk in poetry, not in prose.
and useful too, for my current wip,
conversation in rhyme is hard to grip.

i wish I had more time to play
perhaps again, another day.

this game was not
too ill concieved.
What lovely play
with words we've got,
I like you folks, a lot.

*

the sweetest thing?
To conversation

Our dear Rivana
How lovely to hear
your words of encouragement
for our friends far and near.

I must keep this short
From nine to five I do work
The boss doesn't take kindly
When my tasks I do shirk

So, please be a doll
and I promise the same
Keep tight-lipped for my sake
While I play one more game?

Shiraz so naughty,
but Shiraz, sooo nice
to see you here
lacking alibies.
Don't worry I won't
tell your boss
long as you keep on playing
of course.

So what's up girls Shiraz, Tessa and some of the boys?
I've been sitting around with a pooch that annoys
but hell he can't really help it.
So I grabbed the old crap top
decided to write
I've a deadling to finish tonight.

THEN I peek
a curious old geek
to see how My friends are all doing.
You know dear hearts
two hours depart
and I still got the top on my knee.

However I try
I tell you no lies
I really don't wanna do this at all.

What can you do though
it pays and it pays
so maybe I should not complain
as I know quite a few
of some AWers would do
it happily and be greatful to boot!
