Hi,

I am a newbie so please tell me if this is not the right place to post this request.

My doctor has asked me to help her rewrite her book on nutrition and weight management.

I have been a technical writer for years, but this is the first time I have done an assignment like this. Her manuscript is approximately 175 pages. After reviewing her work, the assignment is mostly a rewrite for tone/style.

She said she has a publisher who is interested. However, they want the book to be tightened up and adapted for a wider audience.

In the past, I have charged between 50-70 an hour for technical writing. However, I do not know the going rate for ghostwriting. I'd like to do right by her, but I also want to ask for a rate that is equitable.

Does anyone have any advice for me on rates? I am also wondering if I should ask for a credit and royalties?

Thanks so much!

Will you be rewriting the entire book, or editing it? I wasn't clear from your post.

p.s. love that avatar K1P1. Gorgeous
