I had a few signing sessions like that during the summer. Didn't help that each booking seemed to coincide with a huge football match.
Want to know a secret?
When you're going to do a signing/reading/whatever, and you're not sure anyone's going to show up...
....bring a notebook and a pen. If no one shows up, sit quietly in a bookstore and get some good writing done.

Ack. I'd die on the spot. If I ever do a signing, I'm making my friends promise to turn up. Or at least my family. They could pretend they don't know me!

Oh . . . ouch. Are we certain it really happened? How reliable is the source? I'm not a big Gloria fan. Not a fan at all, really. But oh man, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I'm not a big Gloria fan, either, but I agree, that's horrible that it happened. I mean, I could perhaps see it if it were an unknown writer/person, but Gloria Estefan? Wow.

That’s bad. I would be humiliated. My friends said if no one shows for my signing they will keep changing clothes as they come through the revolving doors.
Those are some dedicated friends Train. If I'm ever so fortunate to have a book signing, can I borrow a few? I'll get back to you in perfect condition. I promise. Hardly a scratch on them.
