probably the best angel stories are those of the Nefarti, who also go by many other similar names, from before the period of the bible. nearly all religions, modern, ancient or otherwise feature mystical beings that could be perceived as angels.

secharia zitchin in his book, 'the twelth planet', looks at all the stories from the ancients about angels and supernatural beings.
