Cozy Mystery Agents

SuzelBondi

So, just for discussion sake, who do you consider the best or most active or most interested agents for new cozy mysteries? Some agents really seems to scorn them outright!

Any comments or discussion welcome!

Sincerely,

Suzel Bondi

Try Jessica Faust at BookEnds. She rejected my paranormal romance with a nice, detailed letter that basically said if I made it a mystery, she'd take another look at it. I believe she blogged about her agency's current preferences just the other day.

Looking for an 'Cozy' agent or publisher, too.

I haven't checked it out yet, but I came across this site:

She blogged an interview with one of her 'cozy' clients on Friday.

Thanks waylander.

I queried Jessica Faust at Bookends a while ago and was rejected.

In addition to checking the AQ and PM sites, I looked for recently pubbed cozy-type books and looked in the acknowledgements section. Authors often thank their agents. That's how I found the agent I eventually signed with.

By the way, Talbot Fortune represents a number of cozy authors.

Thanks mysterygrl.

I usually check on Publishers Lunch to see who is selling what but not too many mysteries or cozies have turned up lately.

I checked Talbot Fortune out here: http://www.talbotfortuneagency.com/submit.htm John has an impressive list of clients, but not so Gail. (Maybe she specializes.) I don't think it would hurt to send them a query.

I also checked them on P&E and they have a $ rating. All good news so far.
