Does anyone here know of any Massachusetts writing groups?

I'm originally from the Worcester area...that's all I can tell you. (waves!)

Too bad you can't hold your meetings at Tatnuck anymore. Heard it closed.

What's your genre?

There's an RWA chapter that meets in Wellesley the third Sunday of each month, with the next meeting this Sunday, I believe. At noon or 12:30. Googling for NEC/RWA should find you the group's site.

Non-romance writers are welcome. First visit or two can be as a "guest" with a small door fee, but after that, membership in RWA is required before you can join the chapter or come to additional meetings. It's a great group though.

There's also a slightly smaller group that meets in Cumberland, RI, and is predominantly romance writers, but is not an official chapter of RWA, so national membership is not required. Google RIRW, and you'll find their website. Also a good group.

I used to live in Northboro and went to college in Worcester! Anyhow, you might want to check the library, that's what I did. If you can't find a group - put up a notice at the library and start your own. That's what I evidentally did. I moved to San Diego 20 years ago, BUT the group is still going strong. Good luck.

It's a nice thought, but I'm such a newbie I don't think I have the courage to take that task on myself, I'd rather become part of an already existant group that hopefully is run by veteran writers.
