Hello!
I'll repost my introduction here as this is where I plan
to hang out!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Will start here and then make my way to children's writing!
I've done a lot of magazine writing about pond keeping and
the critters that live in, and around, ponds. Mad Computer
Genius Son (MCGS) decided I needed a blog so you can find a reworked
version of a lot of it here
www.blogfromthebog.com
The blog no longer lets me post and will MCGS find time to fix it?
(Maybe I should stop feeding him? btw that is him pictured in the
last entry when he was adorable and ten years old.)
Anyway there are about a year and a half of posts there.
Onward. Decided to go back to school (along with the twins who are also in college... you can't even imagine!) and am almost finished with my masters degree in education.
While I am waiting to student teach (next fall) I decided to write about
something near and dear to my heart - Mad Computer Genius Son.
MCGS is very dyslexic (did not learn to read until age 13) and I am an
expert on being the mother of a dyslexic child! So I wrote a story about
being dyslexic from a child's pov in third grade (the age most children are
tested for learning disabilities). Second agent being queried as I type.
Now I'm off to hang out in children's writing.
If you want to know anything about dyslexia, current education practices or frogs I'm your woman!
I welcomed you in the newbie forum, and now I find you here. Imagine!
:hi:
Your book sounds interesting. Check out the share your work forum (the password is vista). If you scroll down, you'll see a section for query letters. It's helped me to read and respond to other people's queries as I've prepared my own. If you're wanting feedback, you can post yours as well.
Enjoy the boards!
Welcome to AW! I'm mad about frogs and keep bugging my husband (get it -- frogs eat bugs, I slay me) to dig out a hole so we can build one. My question is: if he builds it, will they come?
I knew I would find great feedback here! I've been looking around
for a while and actually found this place by running a search on
an agent's name.
If you build it will they come? Depends! How's that for an answer?
Depends on where you live. If you live in a humid area most likely you will have frogs, and toads, showing up watching you dig!
I live in an arid area and it is hard for amphibians to travel over sagebrush. I adopted my frogs, bullfrogs and chorus frogs, as eggs from a friend's pond. Once hatched they stayed in the yard and around the ponds.
