How long would it take to fly from Brownsville Tx. to Honduras. In a DC 3 out over the Gulf of Mexcio?http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

When do you need an answer? I have a friend who's an airline pilot for United, but I don't know how quick she'll be able to respond.

There's no hurry, I was reading over the story and it seemed more time should have passed. So when ever you can get it to me would be wonderful. Thanks edhttp://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

Based on some basic information I googled, about 6.5 hours of actual flight time, based on a distance of 1690km and an economical flight speed of 275km/hr. Allow a little extra for takeoff and landing. Weather conditions could play a part either way.
When flying in a C-47, the military version of the DC-3, we used to point to the highway below and tease the pilot that he needed to increase airspeed because a Corvette was pulling ahead of us.
They were not fast, though I seem to recall the DC-3 seemed a bit faster than the Gooney Bird.
I think Alleycat is pretty close, but maybe a bit optimistic.

Thanks one and all, I was closer than I thought, I had it at five hours, and that was a guess all the way. Edhttp://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif
