I have not heard of this. Poetry, yes - but short fiction, hmmm. Anyone else? I'd be interested. Maybe just for edgy lit fic??

chapbooks

Chapbooks for short fiction have been around forever, but they've never been terribly popular, for whatever reason. It is a niche market. I have three or four packed away somewhere (We're in the middle of a move.), and I do like reading them.

There was a surge in the publishng of chapbooks for fiction a couple of years back, but I don't know how successful it was. There do seem to be a few more of them aound, and I encouter them in the larger bookstores with some regularity. I've also seen them in college bookstores.

One of my favorite short story journals is One Story (http://www.one-story.com). I read this as soon as it arrives in my mail. They send a short story every 3 weeks.
