lets say i want to get representation. how do i go about it?please keep in mind i'm from the UK, a londoner to be exact. My target is Hollywood so British Agent or US one?
also is there a initial fee that the Agents try to milk from us to get their representation?
whats their cut if it is sold?

IF you can go for a hollywood agent.
And if that agent asks for a fee upright leave him. Agents get paid when you get paid. Remeber that.
However I don't know what it is for screenwriters but for actors agents get 15 percent of the cut some really high end ones get 20 percent.

i'd worry more about creating a body of work and excellent pages than trying to chum the waters for an agent

The pages you posted, are those going out to market for reads? I would say the larger commodity, over and above the writing part is developing contacts and people that can give a quality read and maybe even pass your work up the food chain or introduce you to their pipeline. I question why anyone would be in such a rush to send their work out and roll the dice with subpar pages.
Anyhow - go get those agents, they love exposition, otn dialogue, wandering storylines, and talking heads. Sending out half baked pages can do a lot more harm than good.
