Ooooh. Definite interesting SF applications there.

I assume that it is within the realm of engineering to get it somewhat less bulky and usable on shorter wavelengths, given time. That's a cool thing.

Easiest way would be a "heads up" display from the upper-front receptors.

Interesting idea, & probably glows like a campfire in any $200 IR viewer, like the kind my perimeter guards would be using.
