Just wondering how much to put in there. The whole story, I know, but how detailed? My current synopsis is just under 3 pages and touches on what I think are the major plot points, but have never written a synopsis before, I have no idea if it is a good one or not.

Ts there a website where I can look at actual synopsis (what the heck is the plural for synopsis, anyway?) for books that have been published?

The plural of synopsis is synopses.

For short three paragraph synosis I would suggest just the core of the story and only hint at the other characters and subplots.

For a full story synopsis that fills a page or two, include the ending and tell the story, how you would tell a friend, skimming over most of the details to hold their interest.

For a full on synopsis that is also considered an outline, I would suggest a paragraph or so per chapter with detail to show how your story unfolds, including your ending, because these types of synopses are asked for only when an agent wants to see the book beginning to end in a neat stack of papers vs an entire book.
