Hi, All!
Just by reading some of the pages here I've found people telling agents don't like prologues, don't read ms with prologues etc. Anyone can clarify that for me, please.

Many people think that the Prologue thing has been overdone. You're supposed to start your story wherever the story starts and not somewhere in the past, in a dream or in the future.

Some people seem to think that as it's a prologue it doesn't actually belong to the story and therefore won't read it.

While I don't agree, I guess what results is that you should either start your story at Chapter One and then include whatever you wanted in the Prologue, somewhere in the story. Or just name your Prologue Chapter One.

I originally called my chapter 1 my prologue (I changed it to chapter 1 when I started to query) after I got my agent I changed it back to prologue!
