I hope this is OK to post here -- if not, please move it.

Today, an agent requested the first five pages of my ms, pasted into the body of an e-mail. Which would be the better way to submit this: single spaced with an extra line between paragraphs, or plain double spaced? I want to make it easy for her to read, but not look unprofessional.

Thanks! I'll go back to my happy-dance now. :snoopy:

Beats me. I would personally double-space like a regular manuscript submission. When people send me stuff that way through e-mail, for BBT or just for me to read, I still find it much easier to read that way.

PLUS, the odds are they're just going to be printing it out (I frequently do) and therefore, it becomes the same as a mail-in submission. So to speak.

When enclosed in the body of the e-mail, my agent always wants things single-spaced, and with an extra space between paragraphs. So have all the editors I've had to send things to.

Thanks for the advice & encouragement. This morning I logged-on to find a very nice rejection from the agent. It's a drag, she has a great record & I liked the personality that came through in her e-mails.

Time to send out more queries -- this is definitely progress! :)
