That makes me all around sad inside.

I love Halloween, not just for the holiday itself (for which I don't do much, except read things like Ray Bradbury's The Halloween Tree) I just like the time of year, the smell of the air, the air itself which is chill and snappish. The blowing leaves, the kids in costumes, the dorky music, the great movies I get on television....I just like the time of year.

Give me a couple months, though, and I'll be saying something similar about Christmas too.

My daughter put the halloween decorations up the other day. She likes to stretch it out as much as possible. I like having the little plastic bat watching me while I write.

My daughter calls it 'Halloweek'. She's been trying to drag it out longer, but I just can't see decorationg the Halloween tree before October 1st......

Perhaps I am the suspicious type, but when I am instructed to "look closely" at anything, I tend to back away a couple of feet. I may have ruined the effect a bit--but I will definitely test it out on my 7-year-old :evil

I hate you.

The first time someone used something like that - it was this thing where while you were watching, something was supposed to change in the room, and you had to figure out what, and then there's this utterly terrible face on the screen, screaming - I shrieked in horror, leapt out of my chair, and was all the way across the room before I realized that I'd moved. My brother, who'd sent it to me, was listening at the door, and instantly dissolved into laughter, and mom came to see what was wrong.

I also knocked the chair over in my mad dash for safety.

Hey, the thing was full-screen and something was supposed to change so I was looking really closely!
