So. I was working on a comic book script that really does need to get done before the artist turns up and goes, "Well?"
It wasn't getting anywhere. I have the scene, I just don't have a compelling way to write it yet. Then, the laptop crashed and I lost three pages of it.
After I'd torn my hair out, I opened my Rome Novel file and started to work on that. Again, I didn't get anywhere. No particular reason. I have the scenes in my head, I just didn't feel like writing them. I was writing them anyway, because that's what a good writer does.
I paused to change my music. I went back to Word. On a whim, without any real reason, I pressed "CTRL + N" and opened a new file. I typed the words "Ghost Love Score," at the top of it followed by my name and then I started writing a short story.
I had NO idea what it was about or what was happening. I didn't have any short stories in my head at the time. I just kept typing.
Ten minutes later, dripping with sweat and shaking slightly, I had written 2,300 words of a short story. It gave me goosebumps, the story did, and I was happy beyond belief. This thing which had not existed ten minutes earlier now existed, whole and compete and very wonderful.
I just read it out loud. It works best that way. It's magnificant. I'm so happy.
...er...okay, so that we can pretend this thread is more than me going "AAAAH!"
Any good stories about this happening to you? What happens when the Muses smile upon you for a little bit?
P.S. AAAAAAAHH!!!!
