In the November 2006 edition of The Writer magazine, there is an article by Christina Baldwin caled "The power of personal writing" which talks about journal writing as an art as much as a catharsis. I thought many of you in this section would benefit from it, if you haven't already.

In addition, this issue also contains an article by Sarah Anne Johnson called "What's a memoir writer to do?" in which five authors share their thoughts on memoirs as a genre, and the debate surrounding James Frey's A Million Little Pieces.

Hi IrishScribbler-- thanks for posting this. I'm especially curious to know what those interviewed authors think of memoirs as a genre.
