Women's fiction reading list...

What's everyone reading in the circle of women's fiction these days?

I'm reading Our Lady of the Snows by David Guterson. Yes, he is a male author, but I feel that this book falls into the category of women's fiction because of the protagonist, Ann. So far, I'm really enjoying the book.

How about everyone else?

In the hopes of resurrecting this thread...

I finished Our Lady of the Forest by David Guterson. Currently reading Old Goriot by Honore de Balzac and Possession by A. S. Byatt.

However, when I'm finished with these, it'll be back to research for my WIP, so I'll be reading up on women's mental health issues.

What's everyone else reading these days?

This is not women's fiction, but I am reading Prior Bad Acts by Tami Hoag. It is fiction written by a woman

In the past few weeks, I read "Paint It Black" by Janet Fitch & "The Pact" by Jodi Picoult -- stellar and very good, respectively.

Not sure if I'll finish the book I'm currently reading, even though I'm on p. 80 (usually I give a book ~50pp); the story is good, but the use of adverbs (darkly? how can a horse move darkly??) & such may prove to be too much for me.

Sorry, not reading women's fiction currently. Right now I'm re-reading Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series so I can try and bring myself to read the latest two books in the neverending series...I've read up to book 9 or 10 and there are two more books out since that last one. I LOVE the first 7 or 8 books but now I'm pretty much reading just to see what happens to the characters I love...

I read a couple Amanda Quicks and a Julie Garwood a few weeks ago, but other than that I've been on a fantasy and paranormal romance kick lately.

I've been wiped out (more or less) by a bad cold for a week now. I found it hard at first to focus on anything. But I looked through my TBR books and found "Mysteria".

I have so many vampire books. But this one is really different. I guess you could say it's an anthology with writers such as Susan Grant, Mary Janice Davidson, and more. Rather funny so far. It looks like each writer tells a story about characters in this strange town of Mysteria.

Anyone else read it?

Thanks for responding! Our Lady of the Forest was enjoyable, though I think the author could've taken it a bit further and it would have been even better. There were plot elements that could've been taken deeper, characters that could've been developed further, and subplots that should've been more important than they were.

Apologies for the negativity, though. I did enjoy the book.
