Sports Books for Kids

Does anyone here write books about sports for kids. I am toying with the idea of writing a fiction sports book for kids. Anyone know anything about the market?

I'm thinking along the lines of the Matt Christopher books, etc.

I'm not ignoring you. I just can't come up with them off the top of my head, but there are shelves and shelves of them at the chapter book level, but not so many once you hit middle grade.

Has a good reference of page and word counts. Also, find a publisher of the age group and look for their guidelines.
