I'm Gonna Sweeten my Offer...

Hi guys! I want to ask about beta readers and critique groups. I don't know if this is the place to look for them, but I would like some help in finding them at the very least.

You see, I've been writing for the past year and a half and though I do have one beta-reader/proof-reader/historian friend (and I am very grateful to him), I do need some new pairs of eyes to look over my story not in how it is historically accurate, but on how the story works, if the people in the story work well with the readers.

Since then, I've been off hunting for a few beta readers or critique groups but I can't seem to find one for my genre. My story's a Historical Drama/Romance set in the Philippines during World War II, and revolves around a Filipino family, American soldiers, and even a few Japanese soldiers, and how they deal with circumstances imposed on them by a war unwanted. I've been looking all over the net but I still can't find the right one.

Or...

Perhaps it's my anxiety over plagiarism. I need a beta-reader/critique group that I can trust but I'm not sure where I can find them. Relatives and friends tend to be a "no-no" unless they're seasoned authors...

So...any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks a bunch
