I just thought I'd share with you my inner feelings about romance books. Every time I see a cover for a Romance novel, I get this wierd childhood nostalgia – a truly unique buzz. I don't know what it is, but it makes me comfortable and, ah, "safe". Does that make sense? Other novels seem so cold, you know, the really neat, artsy, cool thing going on with them. But Romance novels, especially some of those POD works just give me that good old, comic book high, that entices me to buy one and even wierder: to write one! Now that's wild, to think that a book cover would make me do such a thing.

Back to my hole, now.

I think I know what you mean. Those old Fabio covers are comforting. Not to mention hot. :) Bodice ripper, or not; sexiest, or not; those old covers always remind me of reading my first romance or sneak reading during classes.

I've seen those before, but I had to peruse them again just for the laughs. Bwahahaha.

Every time I look at this page, For the Love of Scottie McMullett and The Sheriff of Gay County make me hoop coffee out my nostrils.

I know, it's funny every time!

I love and adore the lurid old clinch covers. They're so exciting. They always made me feel like I was really readingabout Important Passions, about larger-than-life people and Love That Changed The World and stuff. I miss those, and if I see them I still buy them.
