Maybe some of you saw my revision question earlier, but it came down to essentially cutting out a particular passage that I thought was important and resolving it another way. Something interesting happened during that process.
When I come up with an idea for a story, it is built around a scene that plays in my head and it strikes me as something I can flesh into a story of some length or another. I imagine some of you are pretty similar. In this case, however, when I finished editing my ms, the original scene that I wrote the book around ended up on the cutting room floor.
The story still works, and it's for the better in the end, but have many of you ever ended up cutting the original scene out of your story by the time you were done?
