Hello Everyone,
My husband was giving me another batch of "wonderful encouragement" (note heavy sarcasm here) for my late night children's writing.
He thinks it's all a waste of time. I sent my first pb ms out and one editor gave me a personal rejection with constructive comments. I went to the moon with that response. To him a rejection is a rejection. Non-writers can be so unsympathetic- ughh!!!
He also seems to think that since I don't live in NY or Cambridge or some writer's commune in Vermont, I'll never make it. I've explained that this board is like having professional writers in residence. He doesn't get it.
I was wondering if Connecticut has a lot of children's pb writers here? If you would like to say hello. I would give you an enthusiastic, Hi Ya! back. (I checked the New England SCBWI website and it doesn't look that active. Just what I can tell from the website. No offense if I'm wrong.)
And regardless where you are, thanks for all your support and comments through the long days. They really keep me going. I gain confidence in your responses to other peoples post, too. Thanks, thanks, thanks.
