I read about this once and thought "cool" but now I can't remember the name, and I'm probably not even going to describe it properly. Can someone please guess what I mean and tell me?
If you get a strip of paper and give it one twist and then join the two ends, the surface of the strip becomes one-sided in the sense that if you run your finger along it you never ever come to an end or have to bump over an edge.
