In May, an agent asked for an exclusive on my full manuscript. I was unable to give it, because three others agents were currently reading. It's been four months now, and I still haven't heard back from two of them. Should I contact that agent and ask if he would like to waive exclusivity? I was thinking of wording it something like this:
Good idea? Terrible idea? Suggestions? Expletives?
On [date], you asked for the full manuscript for The Harrison Files on an exclusive basis. I was unable to grant exclusivity at the time and offered to send it as soon as the manuscript was available. As it's been [X] months now, would you like me to go ahead and send the manuscript to you on a non-exclusive basis?
