I've got my script Montecito in three contests:

- EXPO
- EXTREME
- FESTIVAL

Is anyone else in any of these contests? Should be hearing something about Expo in the next week or so.

Thanks Ice.

Just got dissed this afternoon by head of literary at a very large agency on Montecito. He said the writing was "not good" which, I guess we will see what other people think about the script.

I've read quite a few script and I don't think my writing is all that bad, especially after I posted it here and got feedback and fixed a ton of things with the help of GWG. I think the script is pretty cool. It's one guys opinion I guess.

Thanks for the good wishes!

Did he give you anything more specific than not good?? And part of that could be the size, he is expecting the very top and you may be under that (a lot of movies are) so context is also important to look at.

Well, unfortunately he did not give any more comments than it wasn't for him and that it was confusing. No one else who has read it was confused, and I quizzed people. It is a twisted plot that could be confusing if you weren't paying attention fully when you read it.

I agree with you that he is looking for big theatrical release pics and concepts. Montecito is more of an edgy, dark, indie film. This agency probably doesn't do to many of those types of films unless someone is attached that interests them.

Yeah, I can see that. Because sometimes bad writing is all in the eye of the beholder. Like some say Stephen King and JK Rowlings are bad writers, yet millions of people love them. So given what he was looking for verses what your script is does change a lot of that. Beyond that I couldn't comment on specifics unless I saw your script, but it seems that is more the angle he was coming from.
