Hi - I'm looking for a couple of people to interview by PM, email or phone about shame. It's for a Catholic magazine. You don't need to be Cath but if you are, holler. Especially need:
Descriptions of personal shame - how does it feel on a visceral, spiritual or emotional basis?

Misappropriated shame - feeling shame over good things or at least things that are unwarrented.

Personal solutions to suffering unnecessary shame.

Anyone who wants to respond to this along Biblical or Catholic lines, feel free.

How come when I go to write this I suddenly can't think of words?
Writer's shame? :Hammer:

Please respond via PM or email or at the end of this note.
THANX

Shame in boatloads

Judi,

I lived for years with shame, both mine and my parents'. I would be happy to discuss it via e-mail. It took me, literally, years to give it up and learn to live shame-free.

I can be reached at [email protected].

I am not ashamed, but I did work on an ethnolinguistic study of guilt and shame in China and the US. The study concluded that Chinese experience shame more and guilt less, while the reverse is true of Americans.
