i need help scripting my TV commercial...

camosilver

i just wrote my first tv commercial, and this will also be the first script i have ever written, if i can ever firgure out what format to write the script in. i looked online and found a few sites on script formatting, but none of them discuss the standard format expected for a television commercial. i checked out two books from my local library today as well, but neither one seem to cover tv commercial script writing either, nor does my Movie Magic Screenwriter 2000 software.

so, is it okay to use the format intended for a movie, or a tv show, etc?

i basically need to know what margins to use, and wether or not i need to indicate scenes/acts, fade in/out at the beginning & end, and i also don't know how to end the script itself... the end?

forgive me if it sounds like i dont know what i'm talking about... thats because i dont. i just want to get this right the first time to avoid any possible rejections, due to format, at least.

thanks

Also generally they go to firms which hire writers as a team and do the commercials through these firms. They are a lot like book packagers for companies, and are generally part of an advertising company and work in conjuction.

Good luck though, I hope you figure out a way to put it to use.

i had what i thought to be a great idea for a comercial for a beer, and i thought, why not... it doesnt hurt to try. i wrote it out a few times and showed it to several people who liked it. so now i am going to script it out, get it coprighted, and submit it to a few companies. if nothing happeds, i am out $50 (or so?) for the copyright and some stamps to send it out
