What are you currently writing? I am working on a historical romance for the Harlequin Love Inspired line.

I am looking at the list of e-novellas I agreed to write by next March and feeling slightly worried.

So... redneck werewolves, homosexual Victorians, or heterosexual reincarnated pagans. Hmmm. Any votes?

Ooh! Ooh! I vote for the redneck werewolves. The mental images that conjures up is entirely too cool to ignore. When it's finished and out, you have got to let me know so I can get it. :) Please? I'll bake you brownies. (I'm not above shameless bribery)

As for me, I'm flip-flopping between a Blaze targeted story and the fantasy romance that I mentioned in a previous thread. (Do I Have A Home?) So far, the fantasy one has my Muse's fickle attention. ;)

Nothing! I think my muse ran off with a guy wearing black leather chaps and riding a Harley. Either that or she was killed in a freak accident. Doesn't matter, I guess, the point is she's gone. I'm hoping she'll come back when she gets tired of traveling.

<sigh> Too much going on in life to be able to concentrate on writing. If I can just get through the next couple of months, I think my creative streak will kick back in.

Finishing up the second book in my Justice for All series and wondering what the heck was wrong with me the day I decided to write a six part series.

1/4 thru the first draft of an urban fantasy.

Rewriting an unrelated romantic suspense.

Apparently I don't have much of an attention span....lol

I am currently working on a contemporary that I am planning to submit for the Harlequin Presents line. At least I am trying to. Too much distraction in my life. First my mom was in the hospital and I thought she was dying and now that she is home, I have met a really good looking guy and when I am not talking to him, I can see images of him in my mind and I can't concentrate. I am supposed to be beginning chapter two before he gets off work. I even got up early to begin writing it. It is now past noon and I haven't even started. I am going to try to get started on it now for the millionth time.

Urgh. Halfway through a funny erotic vampire romance. 20% through an urban fantasy with romantic elements that I'm way excited about but is intimidating the heck out of me. Putting finishing touches on my EC Caveman sub.

2% or so into another historical. Still stuck on the Intrigue my partner and I are doing but we're going to pick it back up this month.

Currently doing a graphic novel script about the romantic/sexual adventures of a shapeshifter with a thing for male humans. First thing the shapeshifter does is get itself pregnant, so for the first part of the story that's a secret, then for the rest its belly is big enough to be obvious, except when it takes a male form people are real confused, lol. Lots of nice opportunities for comedy. :D

Right now, I'm working on something that would be considered women's fiction with a touch of a thriller. When I get finished with it, I think I want to work on a historical, sweet romance.

I am revising a contemporary sweet romance, and trying to finish a novella for a fiction contest sponsored by an area college. The sweet romance is closest to my heart since one MC grew up Amish but "jumped the fence" as the saying goes.

But as Tarra noted, real life does get in the way. Soccer, farming, job search, etc.

Good luck, everybody!

I am currently re-writing most of the first half of my paranormal romance, Reborn in Fire, which puts a new spin on old tropes: elemental magic and supernatural creatures, in this case none of which are allergic to sunlight, stakes, or silver. =) The query and first chapter garnered a LOT of interest in that my first batch of 6 queries received one request for a partial, two requests for fulls, and one request for the first 5 pages. The only agent I haven't heard back from yet is the one who requested the first 5 pages, all of the others were passes. I am now re-writing a good chunk of RIF according to the helpful comments one of the agents who read the full made and plan to re-submit to him when I am finished, per his invitation.

*Regarding redneck werewolves, take a look at Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series, which includes some of these. I'll have to look up which book they feature prominently in, but I loved the thought of redneck shapeshifters. I mean, it only follows that not all shapeshifters would be cool and urban! =)

Let's see. I'm waffling between :

Rewriting a paranormal I wrote for Nano 04 from scratch.
Starting a new book -- paranormal alternate history
Starting the sequel to the book I just completed.

Ugh. Here's hoping my brain settles down on one project soon. :)

I want to continue working on the second book in my fantasy series but I am practicing restrain since the first book just got picked up. I am worried that the editor will need me to change things that will affect the second book. Is this wrong? Should I just keep working on it?

Besides that I have the first three chapters of a fantasy and the first three chapters of a romantic-suspense. I am probably going to give up on the suspense; the only stuff that has ever interested anyone has been the fantasy.

Don't you hate that? I've gotten 100 pages into a story before and then realized, Hmm. This sucks.

I love western historical romances but I think I should just stick to reading them :) However I have started a modern day romance. Never give up :)
