Okay, so I am working on my first novel ever! Just passed the 10,000 word mark (big smile) and I left to go camping for five days. Without my computer I thought I'd put my vac time to good use with reading. I stopped by this out-of-the-way hick store in the middle of nowhere Ontario and the only book to read was a romance novel about a witch.

So the long and short of it is that I loved it! I think I'd liket o give that a whirl next (I am thinking for Nanowrimo actually) but I have no idea where I can get more witch romance stories to read? A certain author? A certain publisher?

Any help or suggestions would be welcome :) I feel like a kid at Easter waiting to find the next chocolate egg behind the sofa!

ps: is there a term for this type/catagory of romance writing?

Harlequin has a new line coming out and are seeking submissions for it. The line is called Nocturne. They are looking for romance with paranormal story lines. Characters may include witches, vampires, werewolves etcc.... check out the e Harlequin site for details.

Harlequin has come out with a couple new lines including a anime romance line..... :) Personally I will definitely be buying their Nocturne line books when they come out.

What book was it? I'm always looking for a good book to read.

And the only thing I could suggest would be to look into paranormal romances and see what you can find. I know there are some great ones out there.

Kim Harrison-not romance, but plenty of witchiness

Jim Butcher-wizard, not romance, but a bleeping amazing writer with an addictive series. You wanna write, read him to learn how!

Rachel Caine- Djinn and weather wardens using earth magic, close enough to witches, Dang fine read and-- wooboy!-- good nookie!

Gena Showalter's "The Witches of Mysteria" in the MYSTERIA novella collection. Good stuff!

The last romance book I wrote is a paranormal and the leading female character in it is a witch. I am just working on some of the rewrites and then it will be time to find a home for it.
