When I send manuscripts, I send them professionally. Typically on request, after a query.
Often, if rejected, I get a personal rejection. I very much appreciate this, given the effort I put in, and knowing how busy editors are.
At worst, a form letter... that I don't take personally.
However, just recently I received a manuscript back, sans my proposal... with nothing. No letter, no form letter, no rejection. And no response on inquiring.
My assumption naturally is "no thank you" but not in a very nice way. Has this ever happened to anyone?
