I'll start it off and if you're offended, try meditation.

Gay in Gaza
A Palestinian and Israeli man start a torrid love affair. They clash with their cultures and each other until everything comes to a head and they must decide between loyalty to their homelands and being "Gay in Gaza."

Any ideas out there?

There's that Dutch movie about Islam that did get the director killed, and the writer having to be protecting by bodyguards.

There was also a screenplay/movie about Hispanic gangs that (I think) got someone killed.

Sorry, I can't remember the title of these offhand.

The story of two gay soldiers in the US Army who meet and fall in love. They fight hard to use the "don't ask don't tell" rule, but when one of them becomes a general, he decides it's time to come out of the closet and share his love for his PFC boyfriend with the world. The moral of the story is - a good soldier never touches his privates.

following the breadcrumbs back to AW
This reminds me of a Saturday Night Live sketch a number of years ago where they had someone play a detective who went by stereotypes. For instance, there was a murder at a doctor's house, and the doc was black. The detective mistakes him for a servant. When he's corrected, he says, "But you can't be a doctor. You're black!"

I'm sure your mind can take it from here. Mine does all the time, with the most outrageous stereotypes.

Bad in Black

Jebediah Schnicklegruber, an Amish farm boy from Intercourse, Pennysylvania, is a troubled child. Unlike his brothers and sisters, fourteen year old Jeb isnt content with life down on the family farm. He gets in all kinds of trouble racing the family buggy, trying to run electricity from the pole out on the street to his room, encouraging the girls to have a wet bonnet contest and growing marijuana in the lower forty and spiking the sho-fly pie. The family is at their wit's end, when Jeb sends them over the edge -- annoucing that he has fallen in love with his pet calf Betsy and they intend to marry.

Smoky, The Squirrel in the Fireplace

Taken from real life, this is my new children's book about the cute little squirrel who fell down the chimney and landed in my fireplace. He does all kinds of cute little things until the exterminator comes over and pumps five or six shots into the little guy, picks him up by the tail, tosses him into a black garbage bag and dumps him in the trash. All proceeds go to PETA.

Thank you. I work very hard at making an art out of political incorrectness. Now I have Pamela Anderson all mad at me and stuff. Hey, I honestly thought the exterminator was going to take the squirrel out of the fireplace and set it free in the park. My son said... "Ummm Mom? Why do you suppose he's called an exterminator?" That's why in Smoky's memory, all proceeds go to PETA.

"Satanic Verses," by Salman Rushdie, pokes fun at the Prophet Muhammad and quotes directly from the "Koran." This angered more than a few Muslims, and the Iranian spiritual leader at the time (1989), Ayatollah Khomeini, condemned Rushdie to death.

Rushdie went into hiding for a number of years and escaped the sentence. His novel, "Midnight's Children," managed to anger many folks in India, yet their response was far more tempered than Iran's.

Both are excellent works worth reading.

Dick Cheney or Elmer Fudd?
by Michael Moore

The true story behind Dick Cheney's infamous shooting of his best friend while "synthetic" quail hunting birds that were drugged and stocked in the woods for him to shoot at. Interviews include an conversation with a fellow hunter who was there. In his anonymous interview, he will explain the last words of Harry Whittington just before the shooting, "Dick? So what's the deal with this war anyway? You really think the American people are buying that crap about weapons of mass destruction? Hey, what the hell, after all you and the guys at Halliburton are making a few bucks off it anyway." Also interviewed for the book, Dick Cheney's personal appointment secretary who claims since then, Cheney has asked her to invite Hillary and Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Senator John Mc Cain, President George Bush and the author Michael Moore to join him on similar trips. All politely declined.

Ah, but here's the punchline: Rushdie's still alive, and Khomeinie isn't. Is there a moral to this story?

I don't know what those are, but I read somewhere that the Decline Of Western Civilization part 3 get one of the interviewees killed. He was labeled a traitor for giving away official gutter punk secrets, or something like that. The short film Will You Be My Victim? is based on a true story about a girl who was murdered under similar circumstances.

Mission Accomplished? by Katie Couric - on sale Monday

Katie Couric's first piece of actual hardcore journalism. Katie digs hard into the story behind President Bush's historic visit to the USS Lincoln on May 1, 2003 when he bravely stood on the deck of the ship below a banner that read "Mission Accomplished!" and told the world that major combat operations in Iraq had ended. No longer hostess of NBC's Today show, Ms. Couric was startled to learn on her first day as anchor of CBS's evening news that apparently that information was incorrect. Now, she uses her hardcore journalist techniques to follow the trail from May 1, 2003 until today, determined to figure out exactly what has been going on over there for the past three years if major combat operations are over. In her quest for the truth, she interviews people like Jessica Simpson, Kathy Griffin, Jessie James, and several members of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, all of whom have been over there. The highlight of the book promises to be Jessica Simpson's take on why we are still there, along with the hilarious story about the time she lose her false eyelashes during a scud attack. If this book doesn't prove to the world Katie can cover the real news with the best of them, nothing will.
