In Robyn Schneider's article about writing query letters, she says, "End by asking if they would like to see a partial or a full manuscript, and NEVER thank them for their
time. If the query is gold, they should be thanking you for letting them read it."
I thought this was odd. I always end my queries thanking them for their time and consideration. I thought it was polite. What do you guys think about this? Do you close with thanks? Is it complete trivial and you're wondering why I brought it up? That's what I think. Thanking them or not won't be significant, if the rest of your query is gold. I don't think it will do any harm or help you much.
