writing contests?

Does anybody know of any good writing contests or other places where a young college student might be able to get published for the first time? I've got some stuff I've written that I'd really like to go somewhere with, I just don't know where it is that I need to go.

I answered this in the freelance group, but had another thought. Since you are a college student, does your college have a literary magazine you could submit to?

And you could submit to college and teen magazines too. College Bound is a very good example of a magazine that accepts submissions from college students.
