I am in Fort Lauderdale but I am a terrible script writer. Have you posted on the Writing Partners category? Maybe they can help. I'm only good for laughs and beer. One usually follows the other out of desperation
See ya sometime at River Walk

My name is Duane. I'm 43 yrs. old. Live in Fort Lauderdale (North Andrews Gardens).
And work as a mechanical design engineer.
I'm just in here lurking, seeking info on how to approach writing in a structured
and meaningful way.
What caught my eye here is your post on your topic. I have had this "anxiety/panic" disorder
for years now. It can range from suttle to chronic. In my case it rather extreme.
I take medication for it and have it in check, for the most part. But, you should make some
distinction between "depression" and "anxiety". I know...Doctors don't. They tend to prescribe
meds. for depression to those with anxiety because they don't want to get caught up in prescribing
meds. that are considered "addictive". Of course, I don't know where your research has brought you,
but I can think of no one person with more experience on this subject.
I hope that you will consider the difference between "addiction" and "dependancy", which I believe
to minimal, if non-existant. What i,m trying to express is...if you are dependant on prozac for
depression...or addicted to xanax for a panic disorder...what is the difference?
Drs. don't have much to lose when we are talking about patients with a mild form of anxiety problems.
However, those that have progressed into the panic disorder stage face the daunting task of convincing
their Drs. of diagnosing what IS.
I've been to the emergency room 14 times. It was on my last visit (4 yrs. ago) that I was refered
to a Dr. with some knowledge in this area.
Another point that I would like to make. I would rather be addicted to xanax, then be dependant
on the mood altering family of drugs for depression. Why? Because i,ve done the research.
The family of drugs, which include xanax, are considered quite safe (aside from the addictive part).
I'm sure you already know about the side effects of depression meds.
Hope you find this to be of interest.
Feel free to e-mail me if you have any further interest.
