Okay, I've always loved writing but have never been published. It has been a dream of mine, long lost as it may be...
My passion for children's literature was birthed (I'm a childbirth educator by trade
) when I taught elementary school.
I've written several children's books for my own eyes only... but have never submitted one to a publishing company...
I started going through "The Artist's Way" (anyone else a fan? I LOVE this book!!) recently and my dreams of being a published children's author have surfaced again.
Realistically speaking, how likely is it that a common person like me would submit an idea and a publishing company would take it?
Do I need to be immersed in the writing world before I'm credible to a publishing company? Do you need an agent in order for your ideas to reach the ears of these people?
I just want to have honest expectations as I proceed with my dream chasing... I want to chase the dreams no matter what... but I want to be level headed and properly geared as well....
