;) Hello! I am not a professional writer as of yet, but writing is, and always has been my passion. I write often but have yet to really look into having anything published.

Lack of time (a stressful full-time job in the insurance industry and a part time job with Disney) seems to be my greatest hindrance to writing. Now is the time for me to step outside the box and take action.

So I am here to read and gain information to help me pursue that goal. There seems to be a treasure trove of information and people resources on this site.

i'm sure you'll like it here... there are a lot of really nice folks hanging around this forum and the mods are the best anywhere...

i'm curious... how does one work part-time for disney?... are you in burbank, or do you work somewhere else?... and is your work for them at all writing-related?

i'm looking forward to seeing your posts and maybe 'meeting' you on the chat some day... love and hugs, maia

So as to not add a new topic I thought it would be best to post this here.

Hi, I am a young writer and am new to these boards. I come for inspiration and advice, and just to get away from my manuscrpts on occasion. I am a fiction writer of novels and short stories, and as yet am unpublished, though believe that I am a rising star in the literary world. Perhaps this is my own ego and excitement coming through but I believe enthuisiasm is half the battle. I use the pseudonym of Weren Ignatius Cole while I am online, keep an eye out in the next several years for a book with this name as the protagonists. Feel free to contact me or respond in any fashion, I have thick skin concerning my personality as a writer and responder (reader).

Any hoo, I thought I would introduce myself.
Happy Hunting
Weren Ignatius Cole

Hello, I just joined this week. I am new here also. You will more find me in the children's writing section, as I took a writing for children course through the Institute of children's literature about four years ago. I am not a published writer, still in the amateur stage though. I would like to be published someday. Magazines first, then maybe think about books later on. My goal is to have my short children's stories published in magazines like Hightlights, spider, and maybe cricket. My target age group is the 6-12yr. olds. So I have lots to learn about the children's writing, and markets as of yet. I look forward to receiving advice, and maybe some critiquing as well, as I have learned that there is also a critique thread-Share your work. Have a great day! rkull65

I don't know a lot about the children's market, but I do know that it's more segmented than "6-12 year-olds". The 12 y.o.'s are reading YA novels; some of the 6 y.o.'s are one step above picture books.
