Wow, it has been a good day today. I added 2500 words to my novel. It feels good to be moving along and some of my random scenes are starting to fall into place. With any luck, I will be done in two months and ready to start revising
Thanks to the Uncle Jim's thread along with many of your contributions, I have found what I needed to know to move along again. I have been working on this book for 9 years. I am now setting a goal to finish the rest of it by November 1st.

I hate you.
*Ben walks off mumbling about something to do with him not writing, and other people writing way more than he is - which is everyone*

Thank you for making me laugh. I turned 48 today and was thinking...I better get my *** moving if I am ever going to finish before I am 84. :) Now go sit down in your chair and write. I did something yesterday before I worked on my novel that might help. I know it seemed to break through my barrier. I worked on a journal entry. For the first time EVER, I let rip in my writing on a totally unrelated subject. Got all the crap out of my head that was lurking there and wham...I turned around and wrote 2500 words in two hours for my novel. Record breaking for me really.
So give ranting a try. :)

I envy your 2500 words.
I'm avoiding working on a bit that shouldn't be any more than about 300: my synopsis.
Must write the syn... hey, don't the dishes need to be washed? Think I'll go do that instead.

I find that I'm fine once I get those first few painful sentences out. I did write 250 words last week towards a novel I haven't touched in months. The ranting doesn't work for me anymore, I've totally sucked the life out of that and now it's just a procrastination tool.

It's finally time to peel my butt off the desk chair and move away from the computer. My co-author and I managed to bang out 7900 words today, between the two of us, and work out the next couple of chapters.
This is the most productive day I've had in ages. And most exhausting....

I was concerned today that yesterday was just a stroke of luck but I am so grateful to say that I did another 2500 words and I am only taking a break so I just might get more done. I notice I seem to be a lot more creative in the late evening and even close to midnight when I can get everyone to quiet down and let me be alone.
I had to remind my family once tonight when they came barging in with some problem. I cleared my throat and said,
"Was my door closed?"
"Oh! yes it was!" said my son.
"I am writing." I said.
"Oh yeah huh?" was his reply.
I patiently smiled as he and my ex husband (wanting to be husband again) stared at me and I pointed to the door and said with a grin,
"OUT! and close the door please."
Thankfully they took it in stride grinning on their way out.
Such another good day!

Me and this particular synopsis. How do I put it? It's like... "Fear and Loathing in Microsoft Word."

You know you're in the zone when you stop setting an alarm for the minimum time writing, and have to start setting one for the maximum time you spend writing. (Lest losing several hours of sleep before a big project... guilty.)
