I discovered this forum just this morning while doing an Internet search for "fresh" ideas to sell my recently published novel.

Writing is a life-long passion for me. Just over four years ago, I left corporate America behind to pursue self-employment where I could write for a living (I also do editing, book design, and Web development/programming work).

So far, so good...and the freedom of self-employment has given me the energy and creativity boost I needed to pursue writing more seriously than ever before.

My writing "focus" ranges from long and short fiction, to poetry, song lyrics, and even children's stories--not to mention promotional copy, how-to articles, and Web site copy.

I live in southern Maine with my wife and two children (please visit my profile for more information).

I look forward to learning from and sharing with you all!

Hey, Matt. Welcome to the forum!

How are those Maine winters? I whine when I have to shovel four inches of snow.

Flawed Creation

hi, welcome to absloute write.

i really like this site.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone. This seems like a great group! As for those Maine winters, they can be long and cold and snowy--but it's something you get used to. Makes one all the more grateful for summer...and a yearly trek to Florida!

Cheers all and happy writing! Speaking of which, I have a deadline today (though I'd much prefer cruising through the treasure trove of posts on this forum).

i do have a question, Matt: if your novel is recently published, why are you looking for ways to sell it?
haven't you sold it already? or do you mean sell mroe copies to the public?

mammamaia

is this a self-published book you are marketing on your own?... if so, there are some threads along that line, somewhere around here... check the novel and non-fiction boards... m

Hi Flawed Creation:

I mean to sell more copies to the public. I self-published to maintain creative control over the book. Now I'm seeking ways to get the book to market.

Yes this is a self-published work I am trying to market on my own. I'm planning on checking other threads. If you remember any specific ones, let me know. It would be much appreciated. I am impressed with the variety of backgrounds and breadth of knowledge I am finding on this discussion board.
