I'm writing a script (not important what), but it draws heavily from cult classic films for dialogue. Any recommendations of films to watch? My current list goes as follows:

Clerks
Slacker
Empire Records
High Fidelity
Dazed and Confused
etc.

Please omit any John Waters.

I thought Donnie Darko was quite intriguing, check out the Director's Cut though for a better understanding.

I understood DD without the directors cut, but the fan film on the second disc was interesting.

I had most of these listed (with the notable exception of Austin Powers, that came out of left field). So, thanks for the help thus far.

If any one else is reading this list for fun, I'd like to throw out Repo Man.

Shallow Grave or Trainspotting

Stay away from those Quentin Tarintino movies...the talking seems really forced and its not a great inspiration for dialogue specificly

Whoa, whoa, tred softly. I'd agree with you to a degree, but you don't say things like that around people who like film.

Also, I just watched Shallow Grave again a week or so ago. It's still good.

Not sure if this counts for the dialog, but The Skulls trilogy are all about cults, well dark organizations that guarantee your success in the world. Is that a cult??
