Just wondering...what exactly are the moderators? I see each forum, well most of them, have one and I was wondering what they are, do, how they became the moderator. Just curious...

generally it's the one who moderates the board...hence the name. 
The are like the Mom watching over everyone and making sure all the kiddies play nice. And they have the admin privilages to delete certain "un-nice" posts.
At least that's how it generally works...i don't know for sure how this place works...but I think if you want to be part of the Mod Squad...you just volunteer. :shrug

what we are is...
we're generally folks who've been around here for quite a while, so the admin [jenna] knows us fairly well and feels ok with how we interact with the posters... she's the one who decides who'll be a mod...
