a Fiction MENTOR and CO-WRITER NEEDED.

A FICTION MENTOR and CO-WRITER NEEDED

Sorry for the confusion. I edited this post to add this new info, because the other info I think was not clear.
Basically I dream alot of thriller and suspense stories, some very weird, actually like their movies.

I have been in the writing world for fifteen years at the most I can count writing regularly, published several times before and have recieved three writing scholarships (two paid for some of my college education and I attended a creative arts school. I have had poetry, including a piece of prose, fiction, including a play, published in small press. I won't post my entire biography because I learned to never tell too much about yourself early on first meet, also people will mistakenly take it as a sign of arrogance even if you are just trying let them know your writing history, so they can have a better understanding of your discipline as a writer. I'm not an expert and I believe that there is always more to learn about writing. I prefer to work 1 on 1 with a critiquer and is rather open for critique, though I may not always take every critique suggestion. I have had critique by some of the most "telling it straight, brutally honest with their insight" critiquers I could meet on the web. We have had our disagreement but they have helped me greatly and we are friends today. lol.

Although writing poetry and prose poems is my main thing, I can write in other genres. Although I'm primarily a solo writer, I thought I'd try to write with other writers and have a mentor for myself. I'm pretty much a down to earth, discipline, creative and fun writer. I'm selfish about my writing and put nothing before it accept my daughter.

What I'm looking for, is below:

1. I want someone to write with me on 2 of my stories (that are not completed and of course the rights are shared).

2. A mentor for two other stories, meaning giving feedback, critique, review and advise and suggested idea (voluntarily of course)

A mentor can also suggest idea but usually it is through critique.

Co-writers, actually decided together what stay and goes and together they create the literary art. Rights are shared as well.

I have had two people who I consider who were mentors in my poetry in the past.

Thanks in advance!

From your description, I don't think you're seeking a mentor, but more of a co-writer/editor.

Hi Shar,

You may want to consider taking your "best idea" and trying to develop it into a novel length work as most published (by large publishers) story collections that I've come across tend to be by "name " writers. You mention Stephen King so I'll use him as an example.

Now if you don't mind submitting to reputable small/e-publishers then things will be different. They're far more open to publishing books that don't "quite fit" New York's vision of what sells.

I need a dedicated fiction MENTOR who will work with me regular to write them, assisting with critique and advise with characters, location, suspense, climax, element of surprise...etc, We will work together and they will be our stories:).

They will mentor me everyday, including over the phone and in e-mails. It has to be someone I can trust. Shar

Please correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds as though you actually want someone to write these with/for you. You already mentioned two others collaborating so I honestly don't think you'll find many people interested in going in on a four way writing endeavor.

Anyway these are just my thoughts from 15+ years of being "around the business".

Thank you for your response.

Sorry for the confusion. I will clarify and repost this in my original post.
I have been in the writing world for fifteen years to:) I'm familiar with how most of it works. I have three books written and several publications, including 3 writing scholarships. I use to be apart, a writer/and member of two known organizations. I just did not post my bio. Although I'm primarily a solo writer, I thought I'd try to write with other writers.

I want someone to write with me on 2 of my stories (that are not completed) with me, (of course the rights are shared).

2. A mentor for the two stories, meaning giving feedback, critique, review and advise and suggested idea (voluntarily)

I have had two people who I consider who were mentors in my poetry in the past.

As far the name thing go, not having a big name or being famous should not stop anyone for at least giving it try, regards of the type of writing they produce.

Thanks again!

Shar

This may be a stupid question you already answered but what genre do you write in?

thrillers and suspense, fiction (not true).

I had two more thriller movie dreams last night, half way complete. They scared me so I woke up. lol. I have like one at least a week. but if I don't write them down, I will forget them.

I heard that alot of scarey story writers, dream their stories. Perhaps some of my scary dreams will make good stories.

Last night I had a dream that was set with four people. I twas a suspense.

What is even more interesting about some of the dreams is that they have famous actors in them. Last night, the guy called, "the rock" from wrestling, was one of the characters in the one suspense movie dream, Perhaps they are meant to be novels and then turned into movies. who knows. lol.

Kushiel, are you interested.

I'm writing them down every week, maybe something will catch your eye and inspire you and we can work on sometime together as co-writers.

Let me know:).

I am very flattered by your offer. My writing/reading interests, however, are in the fantasy genre. Therefore, I don't believe I would be a good co-writer for thriller/suspense. Thanks again for your offer though.
