Microsoft Word Question -- Page numbers

I know this might be one of those "duhhh" type of questions, but I am going to ask anyway.

From what I have read, you are supposed to put your name, part of the title name then page number, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do all 3 at the same time.

Can someone help me?

Hello, and welcome! It's not a dumb question. From the pull down menus pick "View," then "Header and Footer." A box will appear where you can type you name and the title. After that click the page icon with the # symbol on it, and that will automatically insert the page number.
