If you are a widow and you are asked to be the "best woman" in your sister's wedding, would you be the maid or matron of honor?

Wow-- excellent question. I would guess that since the woman has already been married (regardless of the status of her current marriage), the correct term would be matron of honor. I don't think you can ever go back to being a maid(en), but I'll bet a good etiquette book could provide a more definitive answer.

She'd be Matron of Honor.
As far as I can tell, the door between Maid & Matron only opens one way.
